Taittinger

The Estate
One of the last great family-owned Champagne houses, Taittinger was founded in 1932 when Pierre Taittinger acquired the Château de la Marquette and its surrounding vineyards in Reims. The house is renowned for the elegance and Chardonnay-forward style of its wines — a house signature that sets it apart from the more Pinot Noir-driven styles of many rivals.
The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, produced only in exceptional vintages entirely from Grand Cru Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, is considered one of the finest prestige cuvées in all of Champagne. Its combination of toasty complexity, vivid acidity, and creamy texture has made it a reference point for Blanc de Blancs worldwide.
The family narrowly avoided losing the house to corporate acquisition in 2005, rallying together to buy back control and preserve the estate's independence. This episode cemented Taittinger's identity as a house defined by family commitment and a singular vision of Champagne as a wine of delicacy, finesse, and time.
