Pellissero
The Estate
A family estate based in Treiso, one of Barbaresco's three core villages, Pellissero has been producing wines from the Langhe hills for three generations. Under Giorgio Pellissero's direction, the estate has become one of Barbaresco's most reliable and authentic producers.
The wines balance the elegance typical of Treiso — which tends to produce more refined, aromatic Barbaresco than the other two villages — with the classic Nebbiolo character of dried roses, tar, and cherry. Careful viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar allow the specific character of each vineyard to speak clearly.
The Vanotu single-vineyard Barbaresco, from old vines in the Marcarini cru, is the estate's most celebrated wine: full-bodied, complex, and built for long ageing. Pellissero also produces excellent Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti, and Langhe Nebbiolo that demonstrate the same terroir sensitivity at more accessible price points.
