ABOUT

The Estate

Graham's was founded in 1820 by William Graham, a Scottish merchant who accepted a consignment of Port in payment of a debt — and, so the story goes, was so captivated by the wine that he built one of the great Port houses around it. Today owned by the Symington family, who also own Dow's, Warre's and Cockburn's, Graham's combines centuries of tradition with rigorous modern winemaking.

The estate's most prized holding is Quinta dos Malvedos, a steeply terraced estate in the upper Douro planted with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Malvedos provides the backbone of Graham's finest Vintage Ports — wines of extraordinary depth, dark fruit concentration and structure that require decades to fully open.

Graham's Vintage Port is declared only in exceptional years and consistently receives some of the highest scores of any Port house. Beyond Vintage, the house produces outstanding 20 Year and 30 Year Tawnies, a celebrated LBV, and — in recent years — impressive dry Douro reds that showcase the valley's potential beyond fortified wine.
