Château Mission Haut-Brion

The Estate
Separated from Haut-Brion by nothing more than a road, La Mission Haut-Brion is the great rival estate of Pessac-Léognan, producing wines of exceptional power, minerality and concentration from the same distinctive gravel and clay soils that define the southern Graves.
Acquired by the Dillon family — owners of Haut-Brion — in 1983, the estate has produced some of the most sought-after bottles of the last four decades. The Grand Vin blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in proportions that vary by vintage, consistently delivering wines of uncommon depth.
A particular iron-mineral character — some describe it as 'graphite over dark fruit' — is unique to this corner of Pessac and gives La Mission wines an unmistakable identity that is the equal of any classified estate in Bordeaux.
