Château Latour

The Estate
One of the five Premiers Crus Classés of the 1855 Classification, Château Latour stands at the southern tip of Pauillac, overlooking the Gironde estuary. Its iconic round tower — the Tour de Saint-Maubert — lends the estate its name and serves as one of Bordeaux's most enduring symbols.
The Grand Vin is renowned for its extraordinary longevity, power, and precision: a wine of near-mythological consistency that has defined the Pauillac style for centuries. The deep gravel soils over iron-rich clay give the wines their characteristic concentration, mineral backbone, and almost indestructible tannic structure.
Since 1993, when it was acquired by François Pinault, Latour has pursued a path of painstaking quality, converting to biodynamic viticulture and — controversially — withdrawing from the en primeur system in 2012 to release wines only when deemed ready to drink.
