ABOUT

The Estate

The Antinori family has been producing wine in Tuscany since 1385 — over 26 generations without interruption. Today led by Marchese Piero Antinori and his three daughters, the estate is one of the most influential wine producers in the world, with vineyards across Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont and beyond.

In Chianti Classico, Antinori's flagship estate is Tignanello — the property that gave its name to one of Italy's most iconic wines. Released first in 1971, Tignanello broke with tradition by blending Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and ageing in small French barriques rather than large Slavonian oak. It became the archetype of the Super Tuscan movement and changed Italian winemaking forever.

Beyond Tignanello, Antinori produces the celebrated Solaia (a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend), the historic Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva, and a vast portfolio that spans from approachable Toscana IGT wines to rare single-vineyard expressions. The family's new Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery — carved directly into the hillside at Bargino — is itself a work of architecture and a testament to their commitment to the land.
